I have had this discussion with others but no one has given me a definite answer so i will ask here..Some breweries go by Brewing Company others go by Brewery and even some just go by Brewing ... is there a valid reason for this and if so what is the reason ?

Yes. Because sometimes one sounds better than the others to the creators.

Lol. Yep, it's that subjective. Although, since I don't actually have a real, professional brewery, I avoid "brewing company" in my home brewery name. I'm not incorporated. Yet. But that's just my two cents.

Between those there isn't a difference, it just depends on what sounds better. Only area that it matters is if you aren't actually producing your own beer you'll need to use "XYZ Beer Co" or something along those lines without the words brewing or brewery.

I own SlapShot Brewing Co., we are opening in Chicago late summer. The naming for us came down to SlapShot Brewing Co or SlapShot Brewery. I vetoed brewery because in my eyes, a brewery is a place, not a name. Brewing describes what we do.

I work at canal park brewing company but they just use the initials CPB. kinda confuses me.

General Location in Chicago?

I named my little brewing corner (not so little anymore, darn gimmies) after my late father's CB handle. A username nowadays. I just thought White Cougar Brewery flowed better. I def believe that which word is actually used depends on how easily the name flows. That's part of marketing class as I remember from college. Mmmm...nice lil crispness with the German haulertauer & Czech saaz in this dark hybrid lager of mine & ohcrap's.
