I did a belgian blond ale with OG of 1.073. After 18 days still actively producing co2 but I transferred to secondary any ways. Let sit for another 5 days and still is produceimg co2. I took a reading and it's at 1.002 and the recommended FG is 1.011-1.015.

I it tasted great but I am noticing some white froth on the top in my secondary , I think I'm just gunna cold crash and keg.

Any input would be great

..... Also I did add a small amount of priming sugar when I racked to secondary to try and up the ABV......

Low FG and dry is good for a belgian. I have never had anything ferment quite that low, however (finished some brews at 1.006)

If you are second guessing your reading do a quick calibration with water, hydrometer should read 1.000

Ya I did that and it's spot on I'm just surprised that it fermented so well I'm guessing it's all the candy sugar and many the extra priming sugar I added to give the yeast something to eat on

I did a tripel with Wyeast 1214 (WLP500, I believe) that came down from 1.080 something to 1.003. The combination of Belgian yeast and sugar in the recipe leads to a very dry finish. This is a good thing in my opinion, I'd say that 1.011-1.015 is way too sweet for a Belgian style.

I agree it's sweet at 1.002 but anything higher than 1.010 would be way to sweet .... I'm also keg gong for the first time with this batch ..,,. Lol , got sprayed once ImageUploadedByHome Brew1392167594.327017.jpg
