never seen this at the bottom of one of my bottles but it is consistent across all on this batch. Doesn’t even try to move when turn sideways. Thoughts? It is a NEIPA. My 7th ever bottled batch.

That's odd that it doesnt move when you turn it on the side which means it's pretty thick to solid. Is it a hazy ?

Were these bottles from the fridge? Some yeast will flocc so hard that they come out of the fermenter in a pancake, what strain did you use? Either way, that’s a lot of yeast/trub/??? in your bottle!

It is a hazy and the yeast strain is 1318. Bottles were not refrigerated as they are 1 week into conditioning.

The first IPA I brewed had a ton of sediment in it, just like that. Several of the bottles also ended up being gushers.

Were they still good at all? I’ve made a ton of kegged IPAs just never a bottled one.

NEIPA = Lots of hop, cloudy.

You just have a lot of hop, yeast, protein etc sediment. It has packed unusually hard. Not unusual, IMO, the amount though. I don't have direct experience since I have never brewed a NEIPA. I have yet to try one that I liked.

Bottled after 12 days. Have a brew bucket and with these, as long as stable gravity, have not had true issues in kegging at same date. Continually thinking about how I may have gone out of normal process and messed it up.

I don't think you "messed it up". Have you done NEIPAs before? Are you comparing this to something like a pale ale that would have less sediment?

I have never done a NEIPA, but I would not be at all surprised to see what you got!

Yeah, I'm pretty positive you have nothing to worry about. Give it 3 weeks in the bottle @ room temp, stick it in the fridge a MINIMUM of 24 hrs and enjoy. Next time try giving it an extra week or so in the fermenter. Beer always benefits from sitting on the yeast for a while post fermentation

If you kicked up some of the sediment when transferring to bottling vessel, that would do it. That's just yeast, protein and hops settling out. The bottom of my neipa primary bucket has got to be 3-4 inches think. Not unusual to have dropping out in bottles.

I realized 2-row pales normally used for NEIPA have a lot of proteins that I think is what flocculates in my bottles too...next time will try with Maris Otter.
What was your grain bill?
I guess you did dry hoping. If so, when you started dry hoping?
