just wondering if any one has tried bottling with wine bottles. I am unsure if the cork lets air escape, thus loosing carbonation. I had a thought to wax the top, but I'm not sure if this will provide a good enough seal.

Wine bottles are not designed to hold pressure- if the cork doesn't pop out, the bottle may explode. It's best to use a bottle designed for holding pressure- like beer bottles, champagne bottles, soda bottles, etc. Plain glass wine bottles just aren't made to hold carbonation.
