Does anyone have experience bottling from a kettle? Mine is basically like a big metal bottling bucket: it's 13 gallons and has a spigot on the bottom, which holds the small vinyl tubes pretty snugly. I was wondering if I could just heat sanitize the whole thing by boiling water in it with the lid on, then siphoning the beer into it.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't do this?

I think you could use it as a 'bottling bucket' but I would use something besides heat for sanitizing, I'm not sure if it would work well enough.

Also my kettle isn't very clean, have a little carmalization on the bottom, I wouldn't want my fermented beer in it, but thats my kettle no idea about yours.
