So according to my kit instructions it's bottling time. I wouldn't say my wine is cloudy looking, but it doesn't look like a color that a wine normally is (it's supposed to be a riesling) - I've uploaded a picture here: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/40/photoqwf.jpg/

Now the kit says I can wait a further 7 days to bottle, but I don't know if that's worth it since it's looked like this ever since clearing the day after I added the clearing agent. Any suggestions - I assume it will still taste fine etc.

Thanks!

Won't hurt to bottle. :) I can see the railing/molding through the jug so it's gotta be mostly cleared up. You might get a little bit of sediment in the bottles but it won't effect the taste. Just give it a lil swirl before serving and no one will ever know. ;)

when you put light behind it does it look clear? If so, it is clear. the color is from being 12-15 inches thick of wine, not lik 3 inches of a bottle or glass. I think my first kit said 'hold up to good light' Again, it is an appearance thing, taste won't be affected (so if it tastes good, you're fine, if not, clearing won't help that).

I personally would wait. Last time when I was bottling it looked like there was minuscule particles, not even a haze.. I said, meh surely that's insignificant. After about 2 months in the bottles the wine had cleared even more and I had a mixture of dust and little lumps of sediment in the bottom of each bottle. Not much of a problem, just means decanting before drinking... I wished waited that extra month or 2 though... still, tasted great.

I agree. Rack to another vessle if there is sediment in the carboy and give it some more time. If you think it is a little hazy then it probabily is and although it wont hurt to bottle, it will be more presentable if there is no sediment in the bottles.

I think it looks about as clear as it's going to get on its own. A local brew shop can filter it for less than $10 or you can get a vinbrite filter for $30 both of which work fine and will make it crystal clear. Unless you let it sit for a few more months it's not going to be perfectly clear very soon.
