So, I went to bottle my beer last night and had a weird problem. The bottles I got were bought from someone on craigslist (10$ for two cases...not a bad deal)...But they were kind of a mixed bag. About 4 of them were green, the rest brown...they were from about 3 or 4 different manufacturers. I had 11 out of the two cases that my capper wouldn't work on. I would bring the handles down, and they would go until the sring shot them back, and wouldn't crimp the cap. I noticed that the lips on these bottles did look different...

Anybody else run into this problem?

using a wing capper?

a wing capper won't work without enough of a lip at the top of the bottle, because they hold on to this to created the downward pressure. Bench cappers will work regardless.
