I swung through Framingham on Sunday on my way home from Pils & Love. I enjoyed what Exhibit "A" had, but didn't stay long as there seemed to be a convergence of irritatingly loud people and children. But again, the beer was nice.

I also had an early dinner at Jack's Abby. I've always generally enjoyed their stuff, and the food was pretty damn good. But the real treat of the visit was Springdale Barrel Room. How is nobody talking about this place? They have this massive, gorgeous space, with delicious food, video games, and really ******* good beer. Like, all of the sours we tried were on point, they had a barrel aged stout that was pretty damn good, they have this apparatus set up that allows you to try unfiltered/uncarbed samples of beer right out of the barrel, and even the clean beers (mostly NEIPAs) were excellent.

The place was open until 9PM on Sunday, I was there at like 7PM, and it was so dead that they were closing up early. I mean, not every brewery needs to be packed to the rafters at all times, but usually places making good sour beer aren't that empty. Do they grind up live puppies to make the beer or something? Why doesn't anybody care about this place?

I love it there too and think all the beers are excellent. I'm even good friends with the general manager but it's far for me to visit often. If I lived in Framingham I would probably go there all the time.

Haven't had anything from Exhibit A yet that I'd purchase again

Springdale is great, but yeah, not super convenient if you live in Boston. Interested to try the barrel aged stout. I've held back on their sours a little since Jack's Abby's sours were always a little hit or miss for me (and some of those were ported over to the Springdale catalog) but it sounds like I should give them another try.

From Exhibit A, I liked Goody Two Shoes (kolsch) and Hair Raiser (DIPA), but really didn't care for the Cat's Meow (IPA). Thought the porter was just all right. I have been really liking their 4-6% abv stuff though (Danko, a few demo tape beers).

Kriek mythology is great. It was 3F-level cherry when I had it on draft when they opened.

The Exibit A stuff is ok but everything seems like it's in the middle of the pack of an extremely competitive market. I do like goody two shoes but it's rather pricey for a straight-up kolsch. I know some people geek out over that stuff though. I've been picking Sunny Ridge over it every time this summer. Not the same but both are crisp and refreshing

Spending some time in Boston pre-FoFA. Where can I find the best combo of beer and lobster rolls in a single place?

Planning on staying in the city, close to Roslindale and North End when possible.

Where can I buy a 12 shipper in Boston? I will be staying in Roslindale, but will make trips downtown and to various other areas.

That's not always the case, but I do agree with you on Springdale. Very underrated. All my out of states friends can't get enough of their stuff. The Apricot Sour is my jam right now.

Call local UHaul stores - sometimes they'll have them in stock, otherwise they can order them for you.

Finally made it to Springdale this weekend. Kriek Mythology and the blueberry rhubarb sour were excellent, probably the best Massachusetts brewed sours I've had outside of CBC.

No luck. Only online. I am only in Boston for a few days before heading up to FOFA, so it can't get there in time.

If anyone potentially has a spare shipper they want to get rid of, PM me. If not I will go the Walmart box and bubble wrap standard route. I am staying with a friend in Roslindale tonight and tomorrow if that at all helps...

Can you guys make recommendations for restaurants, breweries, bars in the BURLINGTON MA area that are worth checking out.

I have a quick work trip planned and was wondering what I should think about hitting up other than Trillium.

Island Creek Oyster fo sho. Great beer list, great food.

I think Clown Shoes is in Burlington but I don't think they have a taproom or anything.

Clown Shoes got bought out by Harpoon. They’re on tap at the Harpoon taproom now.

Burlington is kind of a craft beer desert (like most of the surrounding towns). Closest brewery is probably Idle Hands in Malden (12 miles south). Great beer there. Also, Mystic Station in Malden Center (1/4 mile from Idle Hands) has great food/taplist. If you go a little further south from there, you can hit either Night Shift or Mystic Brewery.

Oysters and beer?! Those are two of my favorite things. Thanks for the recommendation.

ASUBeer you going to the Canton taproom?

Is that location closer to BURLINGTON? If so, hopefully. I think my two shots to make it up there are Monday after 8:30pm or Thursday late afternoon.

Boston is closer to Burlington but considering traffic you might be better off going to Canton. Both locations are closed at 8:30pm though.

Thursday late afternoon it will take you somewhere between 45 minutes and an hour and 15 minutes to get to Canton from Burlington.
