I swung through Framingham on Sunday on my way home from Pils & Love. I enjoyed what Exhibit "A" had, but didn't stay long as there seemed to be a convergence of irritatingly loud people and children. But again, the beer was nice.
I also had an early dinner at Jack's Abby. I've always generally enjoyed their stuff, and the food was pretty damn good. But the real treat of the visit was Springdale Barrel Room. How is nobody talking about this place? They have this massive, gorgeous space, with delicious food, video games, and really ******* good beer. Like, all of the sours we tried were on point, they had a barrel aged stout that was pretty damn good, they have this apparatus set up that allows you to try unfiltered/uncarbed samples of beer right out of the barrel, and even the clean beers (mostly NEIPAs) were excellent.
The place was open until 9PM on Sunday, I was there at like 7PM, and it was so dead that they were closing up early. I mean, not every brewery needs to be packed to the rafters at all times, but usually places making good sour beer aren't that empty. Do they grind up live puppies to make the beer or something? Why doesn't anybody care about this place?
