The event at HF is cool but very limited. Five drafts, one pour of each and done. At least in 2014, not sure about last year.

Last year was Zwanze, Cuvee Saint-Gilloise, Rose, Kriek, Iris Grand Cru, and Broucsella, plus Soigne and one other Hill. You were given a pour of each but could buy additional pours after for $2-3.

Agreed that it is nothing crazy but it's a great setting, not crowded, Hill bottles to go, and Parker Pie afterwards which has plenty of Cantillon for on site consumption.

Looks like HF is out for Zwanze.

I went to grad school in western Mass and I've never heard of the place.

Apparently owned by a dude who used to be involved with the Moan and Dove. Wish they could just have given it to Allagash, though probably unfair to everyone to put two venues in one small city. Allagash does these events better than anyone...

Allagash would've been cool. I might give this place a try. My only worry is its size, looks similar to Armsby o_O

Yeah the guy is pretty well known out there in the beer community

Hung out at Medusa Brewing today. That Laser Cat is no joke. Really enjoyed the cream ale, too. Loved playing darts and trying 12 or so different beers. Can't wait to go back.

Beautiful taproom indeed. LaserCat has been inconsistent, but the last two batches have been fantastic. Luminary (Cream Ale) is always awesome. My favorites are Citra Legacy and Blighty.

Zwanze at Lord Hobo was the damn worst.

It was pretty dope in 2012 (James, Anna, Susan on draft, Anna and Sankt Hans bottles, lots of Fou and Mamouche), but haven't been since then and have heard it is now pretty awful.

Went '12-'14 and always had a blast. (Maybe '11, too? Can't remember.) Missed last year so can't speak to that. Wasn't into the lines anymore. '12 and '13 showed up around open and got seats. Lined up around 9:30 in '14 and barely got in. I can't imagine doing one of these again unless it's a ticketed event.

Suggestions on some good bottle shops around Boston?

Depends on what you're looking for, and where in Boston you are... I recommend Craft Beer Cellar Belmont, Gordon's in Watertown and Waltham, Ball Square Fine Wines in Somerville (pricy, but good ****), Liquor World in Porter Square... Other people can provide better recommendations closer to downtown.

Niice. Yeah I'm over in the city, but never scared to travel for good brew. :D

Sorry for a question I suspect has been asked before but can trillium cans be bought pretty much without any line wait time at either location?

At open, I think there's still pretty much always a line, but later in the day unless something specific is going on, yeah.

Does Fort Point still open at noon? I always went around open and there was rarely more than one or two people waiting.

They still open at noon. I've seen a decent sized line before opening for special releases or DIPAs; even then you might only wait 20 mins after they open. If you go 45 mins after opening there is never really a line. Overall, I'd say that you can walk straight up to the bar on any given day. The ease of purchase blows my mind

Just paid over $40 for two 4packs of Trillium... W T H? Is anyone else pissed about the price of this stuff?!
plenty of people on the other site are - but it's still way cheaper than it used to be....

My opinion is, if you don't like the price don't buy it
