Available at both locations today at noon. A 3.3% IPA sounds like a great summer beer. Hope it lasts as I can't make it today!

Really worried to see the line at the FP location today. That'd be ~450 cases/location, right? Wouldn't be all THAT surprised if it sold out today.

Sold out in Boston but more coming there tomorrow. I guess it wasn't that crazy, maybe because of a random Monday release. The other half collaboration will probably be bananas

Man it's like you know someone on the inside or something ;)

No one with any affiliation with Trillium would ever tell me anything about this, no sir. Also, no one that I employ who also works at Iron Heart would do so either.

Something I really loved was going to the Canton brewery and being able to buy a car load of amazing beer with zero hassle and minimal wait.

Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. Welcome to the shitshow.
It'll probably be crazy at first but with these batches being so large and then producing so much beer I think it will eventually get to a quieter state. Probably not ever truly quiet but hey we just went from 25 oz of FPPA going for $8 to 64 oz going for $15. I'll take it.

Yeah saving $0.08 an ounce, which is fairly significant. 25% cheaper or so.

The case of cans has ~25% more volume than a case of bottles, so they're going to move more volume than before almost incidentally, aside from the hype and demand from can devotees. Trillium's batches will be at least 10 barrels larger than TH's though, so hopefully that keeps it at least slightly more available.

Pretty much this. Not to mention that these cans will be hitting distribution once the initial novelty wears out. I was able to purchase bottles of Congress St., Vicinity and DDFP in ******* Westford of all places. With the added expansion of Treehouse in the near future, things are looking very bright.

Yup, pretty sure Artaic hit distro last batch, and that's pretty much the most hype non treehouse MA beer I can think of. I know it's gonna be ZOMG CANZ for a bit but trillium can produce a fuckton of beer.

Good to hear, I was actually gonna try to see if you could help me out soon with some Trillium but lets hold off until the novelty wears off a bit.

I have taken 3 "long lunches" at trillium in the last week, and while it was kinda crazy for the hundred thousand trillion release I'm not really too worried. If anything I'll be there more now lol

It'll be interesting to see how long it takes for cans to hit distro. Perhaps it's wishful thinking, but this could be foreshadowing what will happen to Tree House once their new brewery is up and running.

The 750ml format has been a bit of a turnoff for a while, but this move is an exciting one. I'm looking forward to FPPA cans!

I bet the APAs will move fast. Night shift has been doing well with a sub-5%abv $14/4pk for a while now.

Harder to say how people will respond to the inevitable $20+/4k DIPA/DDH variants. I'm sure some will go nuts for it. The 64oz growler pricing has always been weirdly backwards and not sure if that will be the same for cans.

To improve perception, they may want to consider what TH does and just post the price and limit number in single cans not packs. $3.75 per sounds cheaper than a $22.50 6-pack, right (current pricing of Alter Ego)?

I thought of that and they did it with the OH collaboration but still listed 4pk price. Which I think is how most people price together these specialty cans instead of 6pk pricing. It's a pretty neat marketing trick; which may or may not have been invented by accident.

The Hundred Thousand Trillion was $20/4pk, granted it was a one-off collaboration but people went nuts for it.

Yeah they did. Not sure if it being a special one-off with another popular brewery created more excitement. But would that hold in the long term? I'm interested in seeing how that plays out

Looks like an outspoken VT brewer does not approve of the change to cans.

On an unrelated note, I find passive aggressive criticism highly effective and extremely professional.

I normally agree with Ryan but I don't understand how this is bad for the consumer in any way, which is really all that should matter?

Yeah, I could see if a brewery swore not to package hoppy beers and did growlers only or whatever and then switched to bottles/cans being hypocritical. But if anything, this switch is to a more beer-friendly package, so...

He could just be talking about the industry in general, but, it's what the consumer wants.... Smaller formats, more portable packaging, etc.

His other tweet seemed like he was slamming people using mobile canning because lack of QC. Was that why the Mastermind canning got completely ****** or do they have their own canning line?

Edit: and rumors suggest Trillium has their own canning line coming soon.
