Yeah I haven't heard of less than $50 from the stores that got them and I missed out so it was worth it to not have to trade for it

$50+ from what I saw a couple months back. Row 34 is gunning for best beer selection in the area. Certainly already has the Boston-proper title for me, with only Lord Hobo and Deep Ellum holding it down in their respective areas. Never really like the Publick House; they've always rubbed me the wrong way for no good reason.

I agree. They have no good reason to rub people the way they do at tph.

Stopped by CBC today and they have an apricot sour on, Picture of Nectar. Very typical CBC sour, which is to say it was great: really tart and a lot of fruit, especially as it warmed up.

To be overly and needlessly pedantic, Deep Ellum is Boston-proper.

I love Publick House, but different strokes for different folks. Row 34 is inarguably ******* awesome.

Aight. Lived in the Bridge myself.

Allston is Allston to me. Brookline is Brookline. B

Haha I'm just busting your balls man. The fact that Allston/Brighton is actually part of Boston and Brookline isn't makes no sense, and I certainly don't think Brighton identifies as being Boston, it just technically is. Like I said, overly and needlessly pedantic!

Ain't no thang, baby. Only crossed the river to go to work. All about the Bridge and Somerville.

Edit: would go to Allston for shows or, begrudgingly, to meet friends who lived within 3 blocks of Deep Ellum. Would not go to Brookline. Didn't like the Publick House, hated having to get there from Inman.

It's a bit premature, but I'm looking at a October/November trip up to Boston, with 2ndary plans to hit up Hill Farmstead (probably a Saturday). I'd love to meet up some of you for a drink or something.

And I may actually make a 2nd trip up there for Labor Day Weekend (is HF closed that week?)

tehzachatak would be cool to meet you.

PM me or reply to this post if you want to meet up, or I'd even be down for an IP trade!

For sure, buddy. Keep me in the loop as to your travel plans! I'll probably be around (maybe not labor day weekend, tho..) and am always up to grab a beer.

I'd be down. And Hill Farmstead should be open normal hours, so yea Friday/Saturday and nay Sunday/Monday. Should be pretty busy there, though.

Is there a calendar somewhere that he posts days he is closed? I'd hate to make a trip only to find they're closed when I go

HF's open 12 PM-5PM Wednesday-Saturday. Open basically every Wednesday-Saturday of the year. Closed on days that correspond with HF fests, and occasionally closed if like, Christmas or New Years or something corresponds with a normal open day, but then there's usually a Tuesday or something to make up for it. Just check the HF retail page (http://www.hillfarmstead.com/retail/). Any closure'll be posted a couple weeks in advance usually. But its very, very rare for the shop to be closed on a Wednesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday. It's typically open on July 4th, for example.

You da best boo. Will update in this thread when I pick some dates to fly up there. I don't remember where my friend is staying. I'll be crashing with her. And if not her, I have another place I can probably stay.

Was there a super limited amount or do you think it's still on tap? I don't see it on the website right now.

Maybe give them a call? There was nothing to indicate that it was limited. On the board and menu like every other current draft.

It was going to be their Kriek but after splitting a Double West Ashley with Shaun Hill Will decided to do Apricots instead so should be fairly a large release. I had some Sunday as well as last night it is very good.

I ended up having a couple glasses last night and it is really good. Morning Dew was also tasty.

Taking a trip up to Boston with the girlfriend weekend after Labor Day. Staying by the Seaport/WTC. Trillium is a short walk from the hotel so we're planning on going there. Anywhere else good in the area we should be hitting? Pretty much have all day Friday. Only things that are definitely on the agenda as of now are Trillium and Fenway Park. She also loves oysters, so if anyone has recommendations for that as well as beer throw em my way

Cheers

Row 34.

Right around the corner from Trillium. Killer oyster bar and best tap list in the area.

Going on to the list...thanks. Will also say we don't need to stick to that area at all. Any recommendations welcome as long as we can get there via public transportation. And any recommendations for the Fenway area are welcome too

I think the "best destination" for a night is the Cambridge Brewing Company/Lord Hobo/Mead Hall trifecta in the Kendall Square area off the Red Line MBTA.

Fenway has some okay spots, but for beer there's just better stuff further up the MBTA Green Line or just heading to Cambridge. If you want to do the Oyster thing near Fenway, you can do Island Creek Oyster Bar, owners of Row 34 (but Row 34 is newer and the spot in general IMO, especially for beer).

Well we get in on Friday probably around noon-1. Planning on going to the Redsox game Friday night. Wedding Saturday afternoon. Maybe I can convince her to do CBC/LH/etc before the game and do Trillium/oysters before the wedding Saturday.
