Anyone else have diacetyl issues with Lineage Wheat? I didn't see any other Untappd comments on it, but my bottle was undrinkable, drain poured after a half ounce. Straight popcorn butter.

Haven't opened mine yet, but I guess I'll be waiting it out

Yes. Mine was all diacetyl, too.

Same issue with the Lineage Rye I had this spring. I hope they will clean up some over time, but I don't know how long to wait...I've got about half a dozen more.

Interesting. I'm wondering if there's actually substantial bottle variation, given the Untappd reviews I'm reading. FWIW, the Lineage Rye I opened (from "batch 1" [i.e., first release], drank maybe a month or two ago) had absolutely no hint of diacetyl whatsoever - I'm hyper sensitive.

I drank a lineage rye a couple weeks ago that was OK. But this new release was bottled in the spring with the last release. Usually Brett will clean up diacetyl caused by refermentation in the bottle.

Yeah, that's why "batch 1" was in quotes. It's all the same batch.

I've moved away from Boston, but how does this batch compare to the original batch of Lineage Rye? It was 32oz fills only, probably around June of 2013. That was dooooope.
I think these bottles are more tart than that release. But I don't remember that growler release being very sour at all - more like wild trillium. I think I'm remembering the right beer.

Is there anywhere in Boston or the greater Boston area where I could realistically expect to be able to buy 2 or 3 cases of Anderson Valley Gose at any given time (or whenever a new delivery comes in state)?

Nice, how about in terms of supply and locations, are cases just sitting out on the floor at places most of the time? Which places usually have it? Thanks for the info.
Lots of stores will place an order with the distributer for you. Try calling a store that normally carries it near you.

I actually live in Maine. We don't get it up here unfortunately. Basically was just wondering if did a spontaneous Boston area run to hit up some breweries and bottle shops, which store(s) should I hit that usually/always have quantity of it in stock?

Redstone might be a good place to check. I don't know that they'd necessarily allow you to purchase that quantity if you just walked in, but I know they often have plenty of it. Understand the desire to be spontaneous, but they can definitely order stuff pretty fast too...

Has anyone been watching the spat between Dann of Pretty Things and Wilcox Hospitality Group (Bukowski Tavern, Lower Depths, Tip Tap Room)? Good times!

Hilarious, amid all the typos that he never denies participating in pay to play but also that he lumps JA, Trillium in with the likes of Slumbrew, BBC etc...:D

"What do you mean Bukowski won't put on our Chauncey Chesterfield Olde Gloucestershire Mild?? We found that recipe in the breast pocket of a 19th century street urchin's tattered pennycoat. This must be malfeasance! Alert them that they will not be receiving the commemorative tulips featuring a rustic frog wearing a tophat and monocle."

I'm sure I'm missing the joke and the context here but if this tulip glass is a real thing, we're going to need it. Kword55 is a huge fan of frogs.

This is the greatest **** I've read all day...

Ha...sorry, man. I was just having a little fun with their quaint woodland creature aesthetic. A Mr. Toad homage wouldn't be too out of left field, so keep your eyes peeled.

"How about we get someone with AIDS to pee in her eye socket?"

But really doe, pay to play in Boston is a ************. Dude may not have done it in the best way, probably cause he was butt hurt about something. Despite all the changes having been made in the city to distance itself from the stereotype of corruption from years past, is just a thin veil covering the reality that some things haven't changed. Similar to the marijuana dispensary license debacle that happened here over the past few months.

However like I said in a private thread, despite it being a ****** thing, does anyone really bang down the doors of Bukowski's and Lower Depths to get the hottest **** from breweries? I think for the most part, we all go to the source to get the beer we're looking for, unless something we want is at a specific bar. Maybe that's my misconception.
