I have a brand new pot from a turkey fryer never used. Is it ok to use for my boil or do I need stainless?

Assuming the pot is aluminum, you should fill it up and boil for 30 minutes or so before you do your first brew. I am not positive about the time required. Maybe someone else can chime in. But I know you do need to "season" it first. Something about oxidizing the surface or something like that.

Yeah, you have to fill it with water & boil it like 30 minutes to build that layer up on the inside. That oxidation layer keeps the acidic wort from leaching metal into the beer.

Agreed, I did the same thing when I bought my turkey fryer (well brew pot)! Although, I did a 60 minute boil b/c I read somewhere it should be 60 minutes. Congrats and good luck!

I have been using an aluminium pot like this for about two years. Do as everyone else suggested and it will be fine
