Hey all,

I've made a handful of batches in my young brewing career but have noticed I'm not always getting a really full feeling beer, or a lot of head. A few batches have felt a little light and the head hasn't been too noticeable.

Any advice for me? Thanks!
 
Try adding 4-8 oz of crystal/caramel malt to your mash or steep. Carapils will have almost no impact on the color or flavor ofyour beer but will help the head and body. Darker crystal malts will have more flavor & color impact.

Substitute 500g of torrified wheat from your base malt will give you all the head retention and body you require without affecting any other flavours
 
What have you been brewing? What are the recipes? How long have you let them condition before drinking?

I have to agree. There are a lot of factors that can affect body and head retention.

A little more info on the process and recipes could give a chance for a more accurate assessment!

Adding carapils/dextrine malt, more hops, wheat, oats, more carbing time, more priming sugar, higher mash temp(if all grain), etc.. These are some things that can have an effect but it all depends on what you are doing now!
 
An Amber and an IPA are the two ones that felt like something was missing. Thanks for the advice as well all. And maybe I should be sweet talking to her more. hahaha
