Blow tude and hydrometer.

2 questions... as I sit here, I have a broken airlock (blew off) and a carboy that is foaming out of control! I guess I need to make a blow tube? how is this done? what do I need to do it?


Also I wen to take my gravity reading (first time) and I realized.... I dont have anything big enough to float the thingy in..... Its like 12 inches long, and all I have is normal glasses. what do other people use?

Stick a hose in the hole of the bung and put the other end in a bottle of sanitazed water/vodka

I float my hydrometer in the tube my thermometer came in, it's long enough and just wide enough. I should make a stand for it someday...

(Of course you could always buy the hydrometer test stand/tube things but I'm cheap)
