With just over 48 hours into primary fermentation of my 2nd batch, I went to check to see if I could remove the blow off tube from my airlock and seal it up. To my surprise, the entire blow off tube was filled with gunk.

I would like to thank all of you who keep insisting to everyone to attach a blow off tube. I would recommend it to anyone (especially if you are using a hefeweizen yeast). Now instead of spending all night cleaning up the basement, I can sit outside with a cigar and a beer.

Should I even worry about changing out the blow off tube untill I rack to secondary on Saturday?

Thanks

If it's completely clogged, then yes, change it. It it's still letting CO2 flow, then I'd leave it alone.
