So I come home from work and find the top blown off my RIS first blowoff I've had I hurried and stuck the blowoff tube in and put it in star San mix is the brew ruined??

Your probably fine, I had the lid of a bucket blow off my peanutbutter beer, everything was okay.

Hey Jesse,

Good question, but luckily I think you should be okay. Only real way to tell is to allow fermentation to finish, then smell / taste the beer then. It sounds like fermentation was going pretty aggressively, which means a lot of CO2 production. Your wort should have a nice blanket of CO2 over it, which should have prevented much (if any) of the outside air from getting to the wort. If something with substantial weight fell in (a bug, piece of paper fell off your desk, etc) then you have a good chance that it got contaminated, but other than that, I'm guessing you'll be fine.

Good luck with that, and hope the batch turns out well for you!

Cheers.

Everything should be fine, if there's enough CO2 pressure to blow the top off, then there's enough to keep the bugs off.
