Has anyone here ever used a blow-off from an active primary to purge the headspace of another carboy?
I racked a year-old Flemish Red to harvest some developed microbes but had less volume than I expected and now have a lot of headspace in the new fermentor. I also hit bottom on my CO2 tank this weekend!
Just wondering if this might work, or I'm better off leaving it alone for 24 hours while I get my tank filled?
Thanks!

Hmm

what comes out of the tube is not 100% c02. Sulfur is one component... it is possible that if your original carboys have an infection with wild yeast, lacto, they could hitch a ride through the blow tube and into your waiting carboy making it no longer sanitized. Mmmm skip this idea ;)
