I went to the scrap yard today and found a huge allen bradley potentiometer. Here is a description of it 800T-U16 . I currently have a 1500W heating element to assist with my stove top and will be soon going up to a 5500W element for an ekeggle. Could this be used to control the element?

Specs: 300V AC/DC
2W max
1500 ohm resistance

The pot is high voltage but can only handle 2 watts. You could use it to control a pwm or phase angle controller. Might be useful for a stir plate.

that is what I figured. O well I am out $0.50

stay tuned for my other find
