BIAB using oat flakes?

im planning on brewing a brown ale with 1lb of oak flakes. Anyone ever done this? Like should I just put them in the bag with the grain? or do I put them in at the beginning of the boil?
 
Flaked grains don’t need to be cooked pre mash. If you were using whole oats then you would have to cook them before you add them to the mash. You should never, as far as I know, boil any grain, when making beer.
