If you are trying to imply, or are worried that BIAB is somehow not “as good” as 3 vessel brewing, and is therefore suspect as a viable way to brew great beer and win awards, then stop right there!

BIAB is just another way to brew all grain. You remove the grain from the wort, vs removing the wort from the grain in so-called “traditional” methods. That’s it.

The rest - great recipe, great technique- is up to you. BIAB won’t be the difference between mediocrity and greatness.

As others have said. Biab works great. Don't over complicate things until you at least give it a shot. This is coming from a "traditional" 3v brewer. Cheers

Put another way, BIAB is about making wort. Making wort is pretty easy to do with almost any method. There are ways to screw it up, but that can happen with any method of mashing. It is the rest of the process which determines the quality of the output: Pitching clean, viable yeast in ample quantity; Fermentation temperature control; Handling and reduction of oxidation while bottling or kegging; Cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, especially on the cold side; Starting with quality ingredients; etc. These are the things that make or break the quality of the ending product.

I have never entered a competition. I can't see ever doing so. I make some excellent beers. And some that are merely good.

And of course don't forget that beers mostly wort and your wort quality is just as important as all the other stuff you listed. Biab can make excellent wort when done correctly. Cheers

Hello how many of you brewer’s Out there brew using BIAB Method an won rewards?

I have 29 medals/ribbons over last 4 years, almost all with BIAB. One 1st place BOS and a 2nd place BOS and have had a BIAB beer score 40 points in the NHC finals. BIAB is just another method of all grain brewing. Good recipes, good processes and water adjustments is what makes good beer, in my opinion.
