Betadine

OK, I've searched an read all the threads on this forum about using medical betadine on this forum. But I'm anal about f-ing up a good batch of brew (a Turbodog Clone this weekend), what's everybodys final opinion on using Medical Betadine(Providone-iodine) as a sanitizer. I can get the stuff for free at work, but free is no good if it is bad foe beer.
Also what would the dilution rate be in ml. per gal.?

Assuming your providone is 1%, that means you'd need to use 1.5x the amount that iodophor calls for since it's 1.6%. 1/2 oz of iodophor/5 gals = 3/4 oz of providone/5 gals. Lately I've been using providone I picked up at walmart at those dilutions and haven't had any problems.

i use the good ole iodine from wally world and have no complaints
