I've got 10 gallons to dump (2 horribly failed experiments in 2 cornies). I don't want to dump it in the drain and put extra burden on our water purification plants. Should I 1) dump it on my raised beds, which will give it a few months to break down before anything gets planted 2) dump it in the compost pile, or 3) something else?

Neither batch is worth saving, or ever going to be any good, and I'd rather make more good beer than spend any time on this dreck. But I'd also like to get some good out of it, ideally in the form of nitrogen for my spring crops!

At over 100,000,000 gallons a day, ten gallons of beer doesn't make a drop in the bucket, but the beds or the compost pile are better options.

It's not "good" for the sewer treatment plant. It's an extra nutrient and BOD load to process.

On the other hand, even for a teeny-tiny 100,000 gallon per day plant, your 10 gallons are minuscule compared to the rest of the sewer trout coming down the pipe.

Well, if you were dumping spent malt, your beds would be the better for it. I don't know about beer. I can tell you this though, if you got some hogs, they love the stuff....
