I know this has been hashed and rehashed but I wanted to double check.

Looks like for leaf hops the top dogs are freshops and hopsdirect.

Pricing at hopsdirect makes it a no brainer compared to freshops unless there's something I'm missing.

Looking at buying 5-10 lbs (I know this is small fries to some of you)

Any other places I should be looking??

Thanks!

shoot you realize that 5-10 lbs of hops will take forever to use right? I did 2 lbs and still have half the columbus and 1/3 the cascades... Price woudl be the best yes, so if one is cheaper, go for it.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards 5 lbs. I'm a hop head so I'll use a lot, plus I'm getting close to finishing my EHERMS system to brew 10 gallon batches.

I'm also quitting smoking, YIKES tomorrow! I want to try a bunch of SMaSH recipes to retrain my palate once I'm not smoking anymore so I can figure out if my beer is really any good, or if I just had schity taste buds from smoking:D

I'd contact Dave @ Freshops and see what he can do price wise for the larger order, mention you were looking at buying lbs from Hopsdirect. No idea if they will go lower for retail, can't hurt to try.

Every pack of hops I've ever bought from Freshops was in great condition, great aroma and did the job. I can't heap the same praise on Hopsdirect as some of the hops were just not near the same quality.

Willamette Valley Hops shows only pellets on the website but I am pretty sure someone I know told me they got leaf hops from them. Maybe at harvest time they sell leaf and then pelletize the rest of it for sale (at really cheap prices now).

I buy mostly from Puterbaugh Farms (hopsdirect.com), but recently found this place in my search for reasonably priced Simcoe-
http://stores.wholesalehops.com/StoreFront.bok
They seem to have decent prices and a few varieties that Puterbaugh doesn't grow. I haven't used them yet, so I have no idea how their service/shipping/etc is.

Edit: Ignore me. I missed the whole leaf part of the question.
