I was curious what you folks thought was the best DME brand. My LHBS only carries Breiss. They carry a few brands of LME, but only Breiss for a DME.
 
I've used Munton's more times than not. I'm sure there are plnty of good ones on the market, but Munton's popularity has to be for good reason

If you buy dry, you don't need as much you would with liquid malt extract (due to % of water in the liquid extract).

How many batches would that make? Depends how strong you want the beer. 5.5 lbs of DME in a 5.25 gallon recipe yields an OG of 1.047. You'd still need to buy speciality grains, hops, and yeast.
