I've been reading and learning for some time on here.
I want to thank EVERYONE on here for the great information.

Especially those who have been brave enough to post their "first time mistakes".

I have learned to check all my new equipment BEFORE brew day.
Good thing I did.

My new wort chiller spewed water like crazy when I first hooked it up. It took me 4 tries to get it sealed right.

I tried out my burner and pot combo. The first burner I purchased wasn't hot enough, so I had to return it and get a bigger one.
I can boil 3 gal, in about 30min, and cool it down to around 80deg in 10min.

I learned that you need to stir the wort while cooling. I was amazed to see a huge temp spike from the middle of the chiller to the outside areas. I saw 15-20deg difference from one spot to another.

One item I purchased that turned out to be semi-useless. Carboy carrier that goes around the neck. Only good for carrying an empty carboy.
You can snap the neck off if you try to use it on a full one.
It might be handy for cleaning, but that would be all.

Some items I purchased that are great. Bottle washer and tree, and a carboy drainer/dryer.

I can see why people switch to kegs, or atleast a combination. I saved 10 cases of bottles over the last year. Washing bottles sucks!

Again I appreciate all the info on here.
I know this all sounds kind of anal, now I can actually RDWHAHB, in a couple months that is! For now I'll settle for a commercial brew.

Washing kegs suck too if you break them down...but at least the filling part is easy.

Yup, there is a lot of knowledge on this site for those of all levels...why I was willing to kick some of my hard earned dollars over to help support it...and my cool picture :)
