So, I'm a beginner brewer, and I wrote a blog post summing up my gear and the build process: https://wad209.xyz/posts/2016-12-30-homebrew-post-part1.html
I am looking for any feedback on ways things could be done better, potential issues, and general comments on my setup. I kinda hate hocking my blog here on hbt so here is a short summary of my gear:
1. Blichmann G2 10 gal BoilerMaker
2. Igloo 60-Quart Ice Cube Roller Cooler with CPVC manifold.
3. Home built garden hose/copper tube counterflow chiller
4. Chugger SS inline pump
5. Bayou Classic SP1 Jet Cooker
The kettle is pretty much stock, with a camlock on the valve.
Mash tun is the 60 qt Igloo build that's been on here forever, except I used a three piece ball valve (which won't quiiite close but stops the flow of wort).
For the CFC I used copper tubing in a 50' hose, and for the ends I used a tee with two perpendicular 5/8" hose barbs and a compression fitting. The copper tube goes in through the hose barb, and out through the compression fitting (and then you can put another compression fitting on the end with a camlock or hose barb). The coolant water flows into the tee and then out the side though another hose barb. I have some cooling data destined for another blog post.
Hose pump head purge valve is pretty standard with a SS tee, two three piece ball valves, one goes straight through to a camlock, the other has an elbow and 3/8th hose barb that acts as a nozzle.
Again, lots more detail and pics in the post! Thanks for looking and for the feedback!
