I was a bit clumsy today.....I finished brewing and decided to taste a bit of my wort. When I opened the tap, some air was sucked into the fermentor and with it a little bit of alcohol (vodka) that I use in the airlock.

The amount was very little....like 5-10 ml max. Can in any way this affect the final beer?

Almost certainly not. Think of the volumes involved. If 10ml got into your 20l of beer, you're talking about .05%. Your beer is still more pure than Ivory Soap. ;) That's only 99 44/100% pure!

Besides, any nasties that got through the cap on the airlock will die of alcohol poisoning anyway. So no worries m8.

That's why I use vodka in my airlocks. They say gin makes ya sin!...:D And a tipsy brewer...gettin smurfed atm.

Same. I always use vodka I'm my airlocks. It seems like it always gets into my beer, so I'd rather have that than "sanitized" water or start san (the latter of which probably wouldn't be an issue in the small amounts but I still prefer the vodka method).
