Add me to the list of people bit by this "bug". I don't do many beers with boil sugar additions, so I wasn't aware of it. Unfortunately I wasted about a half hour waiting on a mash to continue to convert before I realized what was going on and confirmed with my own spreadsheet calculation. Just wondering why there seems to be no planned fix for this. I found no less than seven threads on this topic:

I'm not sure if the workarounds mentioned work. But it seems like a no-brainer that pre-boil gravity should only take into account mash converted sugars (grains). A primary reason for wanting to know pre-boil gravity is to monitor and/or adjust for mash efficiency. If you're doing full volume BIAB, it's really convenient b/c the mash gravity (well before any pure sugars are added) should match the pre-boil gravity. I assume BS knows the difference between grains and sugars, so this should be a simple fix, right? Or is something more complicated going on?
