I'm new to BeerSmith and very frustrated trying to get the right numbers for my Partial Mash.

I use 6 lbs @ 1.00 - 1.25 lbs/qt. I mash with about 6qts water. I fly sparge with 3 gallons. I end up with about 4 gallons of 1.054 wort.

Beer smith tells me my measured mash eff is 0%. On another recipe it tells me I got 13%.

In other calculators I'm around 85% with my mini mash.

I tried setting up my equipment profile and messing with the mash tab. I just don't see a profile for a 2.5 gallon cooler and a small fly sparge setup.

is there anyone who can help me adjust my profiles or recipie entries? Thanks!

Not sure about other programs, but beersmith isn't going to consider your extract into eff. Figure what the extract garvity is and take that away from your measured gravity, and that is your mash garvity.

In the future you can do a preboil measure to get the garvity there.
