All I want to do is figure out how much sparge water I need for zymurgy's Better Red Than Dead recipe and honest to Gawd, I can't do it on Beersmith.

I know I need 16 quarts for the mash. I need to end up with 7.5 gallons pre-boil. Why can't I figure out how much water to bring to 170 degrees to sparge to get 7.5?!?

What button am I supposed to press?

Please help a hopeless technophobe.

I have to Brew tomorrow morning at 6:30 a.m.

Appreciate it.

Cheers

Have you filled out the equipment profile? If so start by inputting batch size. Make sure you have the classic brewsheet veiw and click preview brewsheet. The brewsheet will tell you both mash and sparge volumes. If you want to double batch sparge then you need to open the details of the mash profile and click sparge with equal size batches then adjust the percent of mash tun volume down. Keep checking the brewsheet and adjusting %of mash tun volume untill you have equal batches.

right click on the recipe in the list view.
click "Export As..."
Choose "Web or Custom Format"
..."New Brewsheet" from the drop down
Choose where to save it. and then save it
Open that file up, lists every step you need including Sparge amount
