Can anyone tell me how to setup the mashing option for batch sparging i really dont get this part of the program and its driving me nuts... it says my sparge water is -6 gallons

mash profile needs to be changed to a batch sparge.

just click on "mash details" your options are a drop down list in the top left.

this is done when you have a recipe opened up

Just like Flomaster said. Once you get there, click on the check mark next to the selected profile and you can adjust the details. It took me forever to figure that out.

You can do that for a good, general mash setup, or you can hit that checkmark and change one to what temps you want, etc.

figured it out it was my equipment selection was kinda screwed up here is what im making does the mashing part sound right?

So if I'm getting this right ill be mashing with 16 qts witch is 4 gallons but the program says 4.21? Then adding 2.11 gal to the sparge? Witch = 6.52? Gallons of wort. Those numbers don't add up

Look over the water tab. It tabulates the losses at every step. You can set those in the equipment tab to match your setup. If you tell it you want 5.001 gallons at bottling, it'll adjust your water so you end up with 5.001 gallons after all losses.
