I am traveling through Utah on my way back home to AZ and i will be staying over in St George, UT on a Sunday. Will I be able to purchase some beer in any form to enjoy and relax in the hotel room? And if so, where is the best place to go to get some craft beer? I would love to get some Golden Spike Hefeweizen if possible
Thanks in advance

Utah has some very strange alcohol laws. I think anything above 5% ABV is considered hard liquor or something like that. though I did find this funny when we were there.

I love that name.
So if its under 5% , will I be able to buy some on Sunday?

It's 4%...but you will need to go to liquor store to get it and I do not think those are open on Sundays but I don't know for sure. They have...by far...the strangest laws. Montana is pretty bizarre, but UT is way worse.

Yeah it is somewhat strange how our laws work. Anything over 4% abv will be sold in the State Liquor Store which is closed on Sunday's. Everything below 4% abv can be found in any descent grocery store. That being said most of our local Brewers produce beers for both outlets and we have some good ones. My favorites are Uinta and Squatters, Moab is pretty good also. Golden Spike should be found at the grocery. Wear ever you have a dominate culture you will also find a strong and vibirant counter-culture.

if you're in St George and heading to AZ, I assume you are going back to AZ through Mesquite, Fredonia, or Page.

My recommend is to buy your Utah beer in one of those towns. You can probably pick up anything sold at a grocery store or the State Liquor Store and save yourself a lot of tax.

I'm now expert but I did see SLC Punk starring Mathew Lillard and you should probably by some and carry it with you.
