Speaking of beer on TV if you watch 'Reno:911' the episode with PeeWee herman has him in a bar and behind the bar is a 'DogFish Head' sign on the wall. I was wondering if it was product placement or coincidence?

Did I hear that correctly? Yuengling uses 13000 pounds of corn per 1000 pounds of malt? Please tell me that I'm wrong.

I just rewound, and that's exactly what he says. 13000:1000

This is a bit too focussed on BM and doesn't even talk about C. Furthermore, they showed a commercial from this year's superbowl while talking about ads from the 80's and 90's.

Boo. Boo to that show for completely missing the mark. That was to brewing what Michael Bay's Pearl Harbor was to Pearl Harbor.

I was hoping someone had posted that it was on. I was too damn tired to get up off the couch last night. ;)

The only thing cool about that show was the early history, and some of the older commercials. Other than that, WEAK. :( Modern Marvels was WAYYY better...

Loved the first 15-20minutes of the history of beer, transporting it to the new world, etc.

Not even showing a photo of Coors Brewery is ridiculous. Granted, it's BMC, but the tour is great and there is a little history.

They could split the topic into a series. Even go into today's homebrewing.

It ended up being more about the marketing of BM (not C) than about the beverage itself. By the end, I was just watching commercials for BM (not C) before suddenly being tossed into an Anchor Steam discussion. And it didn't even mention steam beers! After all the time on Ale vs. Lager, I'd think that the California Steam beer revolution would be noteworthy. I think the last time they mentioned a style was when they mentioned Budweiser is a Pilsner.

Speaking of Beer on TV, does anyone ever watch Beer Nuts? I get it on INHD - I think it's part of the Mojo network.

Anyway, it's 2 guys that go around the country and report the local beer scene. They do a little macro, but mostly micros and brew pubs. They also visit with some homebrew guys.

It's a pretty good show - and it's in HD; which is nice
