i am thinking about buying a nitro tank and supplies, do you use nitrogen or beer gas i know beer gas is a mix of nitro and co2.. can you use either or or what. what do yall recomend. and i just bought some botteling equipment to bottle some beers for easier transportation

You will need to use beergas, usually 75/25 N/CO2. 100% nitro will push your beer just fine, but the brew will not carbonate or remain carbonated without CO2.

Beergas for sure. Your local air gas will sell it to you, it's a different tank and regulator than C02 so keep that in mind. If you are ever going to do C02 beers I would also just recommend getting a nitro regulator, as you can get an adapter and it's fine to run C02 through the nitro regulator. You should not run nitro through a C02 regulator though!
You'll also need a 'stout' tap as opposed to a regular tap. They run around $100. The rest of the gear is the same as C02.

I just got a Stout tap, and I'm using a CO2 tank and regulator that is filled with beergas.
It is hard to get a CO2 tank filled with beergas though. Two places I went to wouldn't do it for me. I finally found a place that would do it. The key is that they don't exceed the rating of the CO2 tank regarding pressure. That way you can still use your CO2 regulator with it.
I even think the Taprite CO2 regulator is actually rated for 3,000 psi or so. The gauge only goes up to 2,000 psi, but even if it was filled with a higher pressure I think it would just pin the needle all the way, but still not harm the gauge.
Only reason why I went this route was because I already had a new tank and gauge, so instead of having to buy a steel nitro tank and nitro regulator, I found a way to use what I currently have.
