This is for a DampfBier. What are your insights? I was told by a member that the smoked malt would be intrusive. I just want to get a few more insights before I start grinding. :fro:

Do you want the smoked malt to be intrusive? To me, intrusive has a negative connotation. Like a bug flew into my cold pint.

For example, I brew a killer hoppy pale ale. Added 3oz of orange peel to the end boil once. It made a big impact on the end beer profile/flavor. I thought it was a nice change of pace, but my friend who loves my regular pale ale thought it was 'intrusive'.

Seems like a state of mind. There must be a reason why you included smoked malt in the first place. I say run with it!
