Good to know, we are planning on hitting up Bodega Bay for the afternoon before heading to Santa Rosa. Woodfour is on the way so if timing works out, we will probably stop for science purposes. Plan is to hit Russian River in the late afternoon and the rehearsal dinner is it Bear Republic, so I think that's plenty of beer for wine country...
If you're a film or Hitchcock fan at all, the schoolhouse from The Birds is still there, but it's a residence now. It's a really quick detour on the way to Bodega Bay the way we went from 101:
17110 Bodega Ln
Bodega, CA 94922

Woodfour has a few OK beers, better than ok (but not great) food, a relaxed atmosphere, an ok bottle list….and now there is another mediocre brewery in walking distance (Crooked Goat). It shouldn’t be anywhere near the top of the list but if you have already worn out Moonlight, Cooperage, RR, Beercraft, Local Barrel, Gunies, etc it isn’t the worst place to spend an afternoon.

edit: sounds like you are set up.

No one care

i plan on shooting u there tomorrow, you think they'll still have bottles available from the 1st 100 cases?

icing on the cake would be if hop father goes on, i think i'm more excited about that than beat! but won't get any other chance to go up

Bartlett Hall is killing it again. "Solo Yo" IPA and "JaJa" DIPA are both tasting delicious.

I honestly can't believe that I just read 5 pages arguing about the best beer spots and breweries in the city versus the East Bay and not once was this place mentioned. Wynn's beers are so ******* good!

FWIW, I talked him into (technically, just asked nicely) doing a collab with Track 7 for our anniversary party and it will be getting canned. Should be an awesome NE Style IPA.

Wynn and (asst brewer) Nick really are churning out some stellar hoppy beer, but they manage to avoid the local hype train. I mean, the brewers seem to know, but it is still sorr of a best kept secret, which kinda sucks for Wynn. It doesnt really help that they are in a super weird place. I mean, good food and all, but man, it feels like a hotel bar...which maybe it is? Also doesn't help that they have yet to distribute kegs in the area. That will do a lot. Recent medals picked up in LA might help them get more recognition. Collabs like that Track 7 one (and a few others I heard that were on the horizon) will really help too.

I actually love that the Bay Area doesn't fall head over heels for every new kid on the block. Bad for our trade values, but guess that's nothing new.

Yelp shows 2+ years of existence, but that doesn't feel right. Is it?

Not sure how long BH had been around, but Wynn has brewed there, then he went to farm Creek, now he's back there. Been over a year as a professional brewer, but I don't know about 2+...

I met Nick during at the brew day at Track 7. Seems like a solid dude. Wynn mentioned that he's doing a collab with Alpha Acid, I'm sure more are on the way. You will see a little more of his beer out and about in the future. He had to find a work around for their license and he seems to have a temporary solution.

Bartlett Hall is a hotel, so yeah, it feels like a hotel bar! Also, Wynn was a brewer at Lagunitas.

Escaping the heat down in SoCal, and flying up to SF on Friday. Used to come up for SF Beer Week, but I haven't been up there for a few years, what do I need to hit?

Mikkeller (hotel is a block away)
Cellarmaker
Fieldwork
Rare Barrel
Pagan Idol / Smuggler's Cove / Tonga Room (wife and I love Tiki)

Any new beer / cocktail spots I've missed? Or any must-eats?

Thanks all.

una pizza napoletana
bloodhound
crafty fox
the willows

all walkable from your hotel depending on your tolerance for zombie bums and obvious crack deals.

Bare Bottle. Hit it up or find bottles. Otherwise give me a heads up to meet you at Fieldwork.

Beer Hall sometimes is good. Specifically, they get the best of what's coming out of the Central Valley (Track 7, Moonraker, New Glory, etc.) better than most.
