Hey guys, posting here on advice from someone on the other beer website. I'll be road tripping through CA next month, and I thought I would take the opportunity to do some cellar cleaning. I'm planning to bring along some brewery only bottles from Wisconsin, a couple of which might qualify as whales. Highlights include New Glarus R&D series, Funk Factory sours, and Central Waters stouts. PM me for a more detailed list of options. Anyone who has similar bottles from the west coast up for a bottle share? I'll be in the bay area 7/19-7/21.

You got any of dat Cranbic or Enigma?

they have a tiny little kitchen with food. the times i've been there it's been closed tho. awesome place , spacious, plenty of tables and this on. watched some warriors there. i think the best part i the big parking lot in the back! they had a solid mosaic ipa when i stopped in. cool spot
Really glad to hear this. I have a **** commute to North Bay from San Mateo and between this and the new Fieldwork it will be nice to switch it up work friends on some nights or even just get something good to go on the way home.

Edit: literally just looked on ig (**** work) and saw Fieldwork SM might be opening tomorrow!

Escaping the heat down in SoCal, and flying up to SF on Friday. Used to come up for SF Beer Week, but I haven't been up there for a few years, what do I need to hit?

Mikkeller (hotel is a block away)
Cellarmaker
Fieldwork
Rare Barrel
Pagan Idol / Smuggler's Cove / Tonga Room (wife and I love Tiki)

Any new beer / cocktail spots I've missed? Or any must-eats?

Thanks all.
I'm rolling up there for a stupid/quick overnight trip on Sunday-Monday. Taking some Masumoto fruit to some bay area peeps.

Let me know if you're around and up for grabbing a beer. Or tell me all of the top secret best places you encounter on your trip, so I can make the best use of my limited time there.

Will probably venture over to Fieldwork / RB Sunday.

Not looking good until mid August for myself. 2 trips and moving at the end of July. Will be in need of copious amounts of booze afterwards.

However....I will prob hit Cellarmaker after work today

Bummer, just got my ass up to Redding for the weekend. Where are you moving to?

userpook I am still in to host something either in SF or at my place in Oakland if there's a small enough group. Got some bullfrog le roar I've been dying to share. Anyone else in?

I'm up for any time 7/19-7/21. I'll be staying in Oakland so that or SF would work. I'll throw in a vsb and one or two or more quality selections, respecting limited space and alcohol tolerance of course.

The only question now is timing, since the 19th through the 21st are all weekdays, hence my hesitance for ggp.

Stopped in to the grand opening of Rose's Taproom last night on Telegraph in Temescal.
Super packed, but overall a really nice big space.
Three beers on tap-American Pale, Pilsner and a Coconut Porter.
They all tasted good-worth checking out.

Between Rose's and Temescal Brewing its kinda like walking into an episode of Saved by the Bell, except everyone has a mustache.

That was a fun trip.

  • Mikkeller Bar
  • Cellarmaker
  • Zeitgeist
  • Smuggler's Cove
  • Pagan Idol
  • Sauce
  • Bartlett Hall
  • Fort Point (Ferry Building)
  • Forbidden Island
  • Rare Barrel
  • Fieldwork
  • Alamo (decent bar inside, Bear... something.)
  • Urban Putt

I'm back home in SD, staying inside on the fourth because I caught something in SF. Worth it.

So, has there been a day that Beatification wasn't still available to go? For those who have had this batch, how does it compare to prior?

I didn't realize Faction was bottling their beers until I saw them on the bottom shelf of my local deli. Looks like they started in late March. I bought a summer IPA, and it was pretty tasty. Anyone else try their bottles?
Been drinking a lot of bottles of Penske Files

I've bought the pils a couple times and really enjoyed it. It's 6 bucks per bottle at my local though, so I'll be sticking with Modern Times Ice for a while.
