Pretty sure that the contract brewers have been using their equipment more then they have. Sure there is a line out the door for the stuff.

I thought the Barleywine, BA stout and Syndicate blends were alright.

Yeah, Speakeasy will not be missed. Enjoyed some of their stuff half heartedly. Baby Daddy was fine. Never tried their fancier options.

Had been hearing rumors of a larger Bay Area brewery being in trouble for a while. I figure it was these guys or 21st Amendment. I guess that answers that.

The future of the brand will now be up to the company's primary creditor. That creditor, though Stechschulte would not name it, we believe to be Union Bank, which financed the company's 2015 expansion -- an upgrade from 15,000 to 90,000 barrel capacity estimated at around $7.5 million. (According to Stechschulte, Speakeasy produced around 35,000 barrels of beer in 2016.)

They started in 97, so they were very much the style of craft for the first 10 years or so. I don't know, Lagunitas hasn't really done much different from them? Maybe they just do it a little better.

FTFY. Speakeasy's beer has always been terrible. Lagunitas makes good beer.

It came and went in SF on Wednesday I think. It hit outter east bay last Thursday and was gone in a day.

I know, but seriously, **** was talk-out-loud good on tap. I don't want to talk it up, but it's the best hoppy beer I've had from them since pre-bottle/can Luponic.

It's called Fortem. It's the first in their new rotating Leo v. Ursus DIPA series.

Just stopped by my spot and there's piles of the stuff so I grabbed a 4pk, could grab more for anyone that got shut out.

Fortem is a great beer! I picked up a single can last week to try then went back the next day to take home a four pack. Definitely agree that it's one to seek out right now (especially for the price).
