Have traveled extensively in my past life (43 states down) and am 100% mystified by this "food and beer sucks in Northern CA" position.

This food and beer here are objectively great, but there are things that could be better. (Non-Asian) chicken wings, for instance. Y'all can do better!

Seriously! I feel like you can get a solid example of damn near anything in the Bay Area. I'm excited about getting out there and eating proper Asian food since Austin is only good at < 6 month old first date on tinder locavore frou frou fusion places where the chef had a revelation after trying fish sauce for the first time.

While we're on this derail, I am planning to show up at Mensho Tokyo at 4:30 tomorrow afternoon. How bad of a clusterfuck am I walking into? My upper limit on a ramen wait is about half hour to 45 mins.

Like many spots in the city, I would pass if there is a line or one to long. It is a good place, but there are many other spot(s) in the City close to where you are that time or living.

Ones I dig are: Iza, Nojo, Waraku.

I am partial to Coco's out in Bernal. It is close by me with no long wait.
