Detroit style is cooked in a metal pan with a rim, right?

Is this one displayed minus the pan, or is it some sort of imposter?

In the past few years, a ton of places in Portland have started doing Detroit-style pizza. In fact, we also have a brewery, Ex Novo, opening a second location to focus on Detroit-style pizza. Pretty much every place (I can think of at least 5 off the top of my head) has significantly different kinds, with pretty much the only thing in common being "they're square". Some places put the sauce on top and ingredients underneath, some put sauce on the bottom like a normal pizza, some places put it on both, some places use a pan to get the edges crispy, some don't. They're all different, and they're all uniformly pretty good (although some have way more of a bread-like crust than what you may be used to).

Sad a bunch of people who’ve never had it. So good done right
I mean, if you're taking dough, tomato sauce, cheese, and meat and turning into it something bad then you've got some problems. All pizza should be good pizza.
Still pretty chill at Toronado Barleywine Festival... Cable Car also on tap (just ask).
I miss being able to go off to these random things whenever I wanted. They have any old JW Lees/Hardy's on the menu (and if so you willing to do a gapiufmb)?

I was a bit miffed that Toronado had no aged English barleywines on tap this year. Mostly BA monsters and a couple of fresh American barleywines that were essentially TIPAs. (The event was generally great, though.)

Stopped by the new RRBC Windsor location on Saturday. Got there just before 11 and there was a small line outside that dissipated on opening. It was not unlike recent trips to the Santa Rosa location in that sense.

The new place is huge. The restaurant and bar areas aren't super big, but the whole facility is just massive. The food was good, but they were definitely going for more upscale than the pizzas at the old location. I guess that's nice, though most people are there for beer. The facility has a rather low 3 average on Yelp. A lot of the reviewers complained about noise, though it didn't bother my group. A busy place is going to be noisy.

One big plus was the outdoor area. Tons of space for kids and dogs to run around. You can't bring your glass out to that area, but they provide metal cups instead, which is nice. There's a gift shop too which is nice and spacious. They are still selling Beat bottles which would have blown my mind in like 2012-2015.

There was some kind of wait when we left. Like earlier, it reminded of the more tame recent crowds at the SR location. If you get there at 1, you'll have to wait, but 11am, you go right in.

That is a big plus for me. Especially, once the SMART train Windsor station is in place by 2022

They had a Magnolia from 2011! My fav of the day. But yeah, the majority of the list was hoppy and/or super sweet.

Also, in case anyone else cares as much as I do: 2018 CELEBRATION IS HERE. I AM DRINKING IT RIGHT NOW.

rrryanc, is your family safe with the fires?
Thanks for asking. They're the next ridge over to the west, so they've been safe so far. Lost power and phone, so they evacuated early this morning. Keeping our fingers crossed for the house and farm.

Red circle is the farm:
