Has anyone had problems receiving boxes from Belgium? It's been about 7 or so years since I've purchased anything from Struise and I'm considering placing an order from BIAB or Etre, but I recall folks semi-recently talking about issues with customs seizing the contents.

I've been getting boxes quarterly for a few years now without problems. I think most of them come through JFK which helps.

For OL that is actually not awful. I have seem one of those less ‘rare’ bottles at $50 there in the past.

if anyone's looking for csg specifically, i saw some at berkeley bowl west this morning for $28. also had some jester king omniscience and proselytism (strawberry 500ml sour) for $22 or so.

Any secret bottle shops that I should know about? I usually go to Liquid Gold, Ales Unlimited, Whole Foods, K&L and sometimes Healthy Spirits. I also go to Beer Revolution in Oakland along with The Good Hop if I'm around there.

Your original list is pretty comprehensive. If there are any honey holes, people usually do not give those up easily or to strangers.

The Market on Market Street sometimes gets goodies. I've seen a shelf full of A&G just sitting out for a month.

Honestly though, K&L has kind of ruined me for other stores. Now I just go to CBS or Toronado for my Alvarado cans and stick to K&L for everything else.

CBS is so expensive. They're usually $1 or $2 more than somewhere like Liquid Gold or K&L. Also that one shop in the Ferry Building is sometimes pretty decent.

The Beer Hall is a few blocks from CBS, and gets all the Alvarado cans in too. Fyi.
