Right, but the allure of Monk's is that it's in the mission and serves stuff better than PBR and/or Tecate. There's Zytgeist and The Sycamore, but past that I can't think of many other places I'd want to have a beer. If there are more, I'd love to know - though I'll probably just still head to Cellarmaker when I go up to the City.
Rosamunde, but that's a bit further out.

Only restaurant with a killer tap list I go to regularly is Bar Crudo off of Divisadero. Check it out.

Yeah, I meant overall experience. I've had 3 bad experiences at Monks...****** service, overcrowding, food issues, etc. place is a zoo and it's not worth it for me.

Well, yeah, a few big events are going to happen on every weekend day. Just too bad for those of you whose SOs care about that sort of thing that it's on a Saturday this year.

Although, frankly, I don't get the barleywine festival. I thought it was terrible the one time I went.

2014 Prop. K thnx.

Not srs. But I'm down for a bottleshare if our schedules work

Sadly no Prop this year for me, didn't feel like putting in the effort to track down any. Its getting rough around here!

I may try to bring a couple 4-packs of Abrasive if it hits my area before our trip. If anyone is interested in that (or anything else specific), let me know.

Went to the barleywine festival with my buddy last year. Dr Bill ended up letting us hang at his table, where they had a pour of every barleywine on the list on the table. It was the start of a most excellent day of drinking.

I obviously must have had this conversation with you, but I swear when I was at Toro in October I had the same conversation with someone at the bar

Maybe I'm getting old, but a festival of all Barleywine's sounds like a terrible hangover. I'm actually planning on going to Firestone on Valentine's day for their release since the gf is going to a concert. Lucked out in that one.

What release?

We weren't the only ones. Dr. Bill and his friend were leaving and told us we could take the table, so we let anybody else who came by hang out and try some as well. My friend actually manahged to try all 58 barleywines, I wasn't quite that brave.

Does your friend live in SF and/or is he on TB?

Haha, does this mean you're picking me up?

Just wanted to make sure Beercraft wasn;t doing anything special that day. I am probably heading up there after taps tonight so I will ask. If not, I know Jimmy is down to go as well so yeah, I will be driving. We typically go down Friday nioght and stay down there.

Now I REALLY wish I opted for the early session

I mean, it's really hard to get drunk on low-ABV sours, so it's not like there's much worry about that. The main thing is the annoyance of getting around it, and now you have advanced warning to plan your route!

Fortunately for me it makes no difference since I go south. Hurray Oakland!
