Just saw Seven Stills tasting room is open now. Has anyone gone?

Haven't been - they used to get their distiller's wash from Bryan Hermannson of Pac Brew Lab, which is now defunct as far as I can tell. Their Whipnose whiskey was an interesting - however derivative - concept as distilled from bottle-ready double IPA, but kind of unremarkable for the price.

At first I considered it and then realized all the bottles are 375 ml, which I feel is kind of pricey for (as far as I'm aware) totally unproven spirits.

Pac Brew Lab is now Black Hammer Brewing I believe.

Okay, these hoppy beers at Bartlett Hall are legit good. The coffee, vanilla Porter is good as well.

Only bummer: my flight of four is nearly $15, which is kind of unacceptably expensive, in my opinion.

Not really beer related, but the wife and I recently booked flights to San Fran in mid-October and are trying to decide which neighborhood to stay in. Is there anywhere in this thread that does some type of comprehensive rundown of the different areas? I clicked through a bunch of different pages, so I'm not being completely lazy at least

Just stay in Lower Haight. Central, near Toronado, walking distance to almost anything.

Airbnb in Lower Haight, Duboce, Castro or Mission. Central to everything.

Thanks guys. I actually used Airbnb for the first time this past weekend up in Waterbury, VT and it worked out great so we were leaning towards that for our trip. I'll check out those neighborhoods. It'd be great to meet for a beer or 4.

This might not be the place for this, but **** it. I have an extra ticket to the Modest Mouse / Brand New concert tomorrow at Berkeley in the Greek Theater. The ticket is General Admission, it's $66. I am trying to put it on stub hub, but the site is being a bitch right now.

Lived in the Lower Haight for years and it was very quickly my favorite place in the city. Only downside is it's not superclose to BART if you want to get to Oakland. You have to take a quick ride on the N to Civ Cen.

Hopefully they play some of their old stuff, I haven't gotten any of the new albums. I'm a big fan of Brand New though, they will be my headline. I sure hope I can get this ticket sold! If you have a buddy looking to go, let me know!

I stayed there the first time I visited SF many moons ago. Great hotel and location. Rooms are small, but you're just gonna be crashing there anyway.
