I'm going to pop up to Novato on Saturday afternoon to try Baeltane's tap-only barleywine -- the brewer ages it in barrels (apple brandy this year) for over a year with intentionally left head-space "to create a flavor similar to a sherry".
Had their BA BW lastFeb. Was pretty outstanding. Need to bottle that ****!

Really liked all the Baeltane I have gotten to try, but was slightly underwhelmed by their recent bottle releases this year. Not bad, but I was expecting more from those bottles.

Visit sol food in san rafael on your way back for some grub.

Hey I picked up a couple beers at Lunardi's for a buddy of mine and have no idea what they cost as it was part of a big shopping trip and my wife didn't save the receipt. Anyone one know what the Oat OneHitter from Lagunitas runs? Or the Stone Grainic?

Lagunitas Bitter Oats is in the $7-$8 range, so at Lunardi's beer prices closer to $10 I would suspect.

Call Lunardis and ask what they cost.

Looks like the Sonoma Marin rail system is going to be fired up soon.

The Santa Rosa - Railroad Square stop isn't too far from RRBC. Should be nice for locals. And hopefully alleviate that stupid Petaluma weekend traffic.

If they could just extend it to Healdsburg, would be a nice little extension. Even got the cool, old railroad stop near town.

For real. No set timeline for that yet. The missus' family has a place up there, so it'd be awesome to get to RRBC and not have to drive for a change. I went to a presentation last night on it and there is no set date on the Phase 2 stuff, unfortunately.

Will resist adding my views on SMART. I wish the system well.

The only issues with SMART are that

1. We don't have North Bay BART because of rich people in Marin in the '60s
2. The tiny tax required to implement this thing was rejected when this was first on the ballot in 2005, which made all of it cost more when it did get approved.

Well...

Lack of planning focus/ funding on connections to local transit options. Ie Feeder bus system into SMART. The plan to build and 'expect' local bus transit to serve a new service needs input, planning, cooperation and funding is an ongoing issue in public transit.

Location of Novato stop in relation to above issue.

Same with Ferry connection, or lack off.

Not saying SMART isn't good, or of value. More commenting on process and implementation of the planning process.

That is all very true. I do think this largely will happen, though. I'm still unclear on why there is no ferry connection -- it was being debated in 2004 and seemed like a done deal.
