There's a million good restaurants, I'll let others speak to that. Outside of what you listed, Mikkellar is a cool spot, but pricey. Toronado is OG, but dive-bar-y. Faction is cool (take the ferry from SF!) and Fieldworks was better than expected on the east side of the bay. If you're on the peninsula, check out Ale Arsenal and Gourmet Haus Staudt.

Not sure how to address your last question. Are you a really bad driver?

Ha. I wasn't sure how close it was to San Francisco. I won't have a car and it seems a little too far away since I'll be out there for work.

Can't do that any more. Unless they're SARA vintage bottles.

Oh damn, really? That's too bad, I was thinking about taking a trip up north soon and was looking forward to another SARA share. Did they get in trouble for it?

No, but they were becoming a bit much I think:

Hi All,

It is with much sadness that Tim and I must announce that bottle shares at the brewery will have to end after this Friday, May 8, 2015. There has been an uptick in ABC presence at craft breweries, and the bottle shares simply aren't legal. If our license (and ours and our employees' livelihoods) were not on the line we would continue them, but we feel that we can't take the risk anymore unless and until we can figure out a more legal way to have them. While it too is a grey legal area, we will continue to allow shares of vintage SARA beers (and of course if you buy a bottle on site you can drink it here).

It really saddens us to end shares because the shares have helped to create the unique, welcoming, and warm community here, but we trust we will not lose this. While we certainly love sharing your bottles, it is all of you who make this place what it is. Cheers,

Adair and Tim.

Seems like that would indeed be a pretty large impediment to your ability to drive anywhere.

I was going to rent one if i could make it out to SARA but I won't have/need a car for work during this trip.

JC let me know when you are out here. At the very least we can grab some beers and maybe trip down to SARA!

Must visits are in SF: Cellarmaker, Toronado, Zeitgeist, City Beer and Magnolia.

As far as restaurants, SF has it all, what are you ISO? Pizza, asian, etc.

State Bird for some of the best food. Reservations are hard to come by. Pizzeria Delia for thin crust. Dim Sum in Chinatown, I can point you to the good spots. Burritos at Cancun or Papalote in the Mission, close to mi casa.

Thanks Ryan! I just got hungry reading that. Any sushi recommendations?

I'll let you know once I get my plans confirmed and we can work on a plan to meet up.

Sebo, Kiss and Ryoko.

Great sushi spots are everywhere and you'll find one in whatever neighborhood your staying yelp some

Just booked my flight. A Sunday trip to SARA is back in play.

Random SARA questions:

1. Bottle share no longer allowed, right?
2. Good food nearby?

How are they doing in general? Loved their saison, and they seemed like a brewery that could turn into an awesome brewery at one point.
They're pretty hit and miss. I liked Honest Day's Pay, their tart saison, but I've had some really questionable beers as well (Little Chicken and Bug Chicken, most notably).
