Not a real doctor. Lives in garage.
It's a pop-up restaurant waiting to find a space. The chef is really well-regarded.
I've been a few times. Its fantastic. Its always in the same place in the mission, but its "underground" because its just in this tiny AirBnB rented space. They encourage you to come into the kitchen, ask the chef how the food is made, etc. Its typically 12-17 courses, and I'm not kidding when I say Michelin star, mind blowing kinda food. He describes the dishes, and they are typically filled with components that take hours, if not days, to prep. Really really interesting and good food. Always BYOB (besides this) and a cool, communal experience. They do them 2 weekends a month or so, usually on a lotto you sign up for on his website. I think its 40 ppl per dinner max, so tough to get into. Also, not cheap, but 10000% worth it.Haven't heard of it either, but it's got a 5 star average on yelp (70 some reviews, so I'm guessing it's new). It's got $$$$, so it's pretty ritzy. Anyone have first hand experience?
Supposedly there is, but I know nothing about it.Alright, my flight to San Francisco is booked. Turns out my buddy out there doesn't have a car, so I don't suppose there's a bus or anything that would get me close to Russian River?

To be fair, the "correct" response is a link to lmgtfy.com, so I think mine was a step up.Great post, really useful.

Golden Gate Transit goes from SF to SR. The Santa Rosa Transit Mall stop is extremely close to RR. I would recommend getting a car and spending the night up there. Lots of worthwhile stops in Marin and Sonoma Counties.Alright, my flight to San Francisco is booked. EDIT: actually, the better answer is this: http://goo.gl/maps/SRrdr
Do people really not know that Google Maps has public transit information? It seems like people should know this.
I AM CALM WHY THE **** WOULDN'T YOU THINK I'M CALM.Calm down Sheldon, I'm ribbing you for posting just to say, "I don't know."

There are a few other options. Depends on what your budget is though. I don't have a car either, so for my treks up there I either:Did not know that Google Maps has public transportation info. Looks like the 101 would be a ~ 2.5-3 hour ride each way. Worse comes to worse I'll do that. I'm not going to go out to California during PtY season and not making a trek to drink it at the source.
ISO: Toronado Barleywine fest. If I can manage to score 3 beers in 3 hours during this event, Win!
I'll be there! Looks like tickets are already sold out, kinda crazy.![]()
Hope to meet some of you there!
I'll be there, too! Glad I got in!![]()

I was unable to get tickets, but then my buddy who got 2, knowing how much I love Almanac and Lazy Bear, gave me his. What a friend. My friend that works at Eventbrite said that 2 different users bought 5 tickets each. Should have put a max tickets amount on there like usual. Weak. Still, see you all there!I'll be there! Alternatively, though guys could actually have 4 guests. The max number of tickets was 6.I was unable to get tickets, but then my buddy who got 2, knowing how much I love Almanac and Lazy Bear, gave me his. What a friend. Right, but still, tough. All other Lazy Bears are a max of 4 tickets. Makes it a lot better because more people get to try. I get it tho.Alternatively, though guys could actually have 4 guests. The max number of tickets was 6.
I thought the 7th only had the Gala.Looking at being in town Feb 7th - 9th. . .
Gonna hit up the Bistro dipa fest on the 8th. . . everything else is TBD.
What recommendations you guys have for the evening of the 7th, the evening of the 8th and early Sunday on the 9th? I'd prefer to stay in the East Bay (especially on the 8th) but who knows. . .

They play the Blue Jackets that friday night. Game is at 7:30. If you go, I recommend checking out The Refuge in San Carlos on the way down. (Right by the caltrain stop so easy to get to if Sans-car). Some pretty good pastrami sandwiches and a great beer list. Enjoyed a bottle of Fou' Fone last time I was there. Its all I see too. Doesnt have to be a SFBW event. Hmm. Are the Sharks in town? So many beercentric things in the bay area now that I have no idea about, figured Id ask what people recommend. Looking to mix a little new with the old (Bistro).
The Almanac/Bar Jules dinner looks pretty good too. Only $60 for that.I tried to get the Lazy Bear/Almanac dinner today, but it sold out immediately. Second choice was the Mikeller/RB dinner, which was still available (5:30). The lady friend loves sours, so this will be our V-Day dinner because it's ******* expensive.
