I'm posting it because it's almost time to start brewing your fall/winter barley wines. This is an extract brew, let me know how it sounds! It's extremely hoppy, but hop efficiency dies out after a while.

0.5# Chocolate malt
0.5# Crystal 90L
0.5# Rye Malt

45 min steep on those grains

12# Briess Golden Light DME boiled for 60 mins
3 oz Columbus hops (14.4 AA) boiled for 60 mins
1 oz Amarillo hops (9.1 AA) boiled for 60 mins

1 oz Amarillo hops (9.1 AA) boiled 30 mins
2 oz Cascade whole leaf hops (6.1 AA) boiled 30 mins

1 oz Amarillo hops (9.1 AA) boiled 20 mins
1 oz Chinook hops (11.4 AA) boiled 20 mins

2 oz Cascade (6.1 AA) boiled 1:15 mins

Notes
10 min Irish Moss
3.5 Gallon boil topped to 5.5 gallons
OG: 1.103
FG: ??? still fermenting

Any critiques?

Sounds good...have you brewed this before? I look forward to hearing how it comes out...I guess I'll subscribe now, so I'll know next year :D

I havent brewed it before.. i really just started getting into barley wines last week. I hadn't had one before the arizona strong beer festival and when i first tried it, it instantly became my favorite beer. I've been to the liquor store several times trying new ones since then lol..

Anyone else have critiques on this? Should I add more rye next time?
