Barley Crusher: So how long did you have to wait for it to arrive?

Is it just me, or does the Cereal Killer look like a direct knock-off of the Barley Crusher?

Where is the cereal killer built, does anyone know?

Yes, like I said there's a ton of thread on it. In fact the only 2 thread in my user's cp right now is this thread and the main one on the cereal killer

It's made in the US and I think even also made in Michigan, and yes it looks like a copy of the BK, the only difference is that evidently it has a smaller crank.

But the folks who have received them and are using them seem to like them.
 
Well it seems as though I am not the only one dealing with this issue of shipping and ZERO communication.

I'm giving the BC guys until close of business today to get me a shipping notice then i am cancelling. I emailed them and I would call them if they had a phone number to call...

This is the only way to make people change their processes. Speak with your $$. If more people cancel then maybe they will start communicating I can only imagine if it is this bad to get a new order filled that getting service done (if needed) will be impossible.

I got mine about 3 weeks after ordering, and it's an excellent product. I ordered from the manufacturer.

I think they're simply a small company that's working hard to keep up with the orders, given the great reviews it gets. It really is a great product and certainly worth the wait, though I can understand frustration in lack of communication from them.

I wouldn't cancel if I were you - I'll bet your order is about at the top of the queue by now, based on the times that others have had to wait.
 
I got my BC through Birdman, and only waited about 2 weeks. Had shipping tracking, ETA, order status, etc.
Didn't order through the BC site because I got it slightly cheaper with cost+shipping and could pay with credit card rather than paypal.
 
So here is the update. I wanted to wait until everything cleared before posting.

After 2 week shipping "grace" period as stated on website I emailed...no response

Over the next couple days....I emailed again and again....no response

After 3 weeks I opened a Paypal dispute...no response

Multiple messages sent from me to Barley Crusher via Paypal...no response

Few more days go by...I send 2 emails to Barley Crusher notifying that I wanted to cancel the order now that weeks had passed with no shipping info and no communication. Zero Response.

Fearing that I would get a random shipping notice after emailing to cancel I elevated the claim to a dispute later. I did not want to deal with shipping a (now) unwanted item. Zero Response from BC. Big Surprise here.

Sent another email to BC telling him/them I was disputing the transaction and that if no action was taken by him or paypal by the second week of Dec I would proceed with a chargeback. Zero Response

Paypal rules dispute is in my favor and refunds me my $$. Never heard one word from Barley Crusher throughout the entire ordeal. Took my business elsewhere.
 
I ordered mine November 13th and it was delivered yesterday. I ordered straight from the BC website so I had already seen the disclaimer about the possible 2 week delay so I wasn't expecting any additional communication about it. I just figured it would show up when it shows, and if a "long" time went by I'd start calling people. Then last Friday I received an email saying it shipped and gave me the UPS tracking number. I was quite happy with the overall process.
 
I'd ordered mine from NorthernBrewer since it said it was in stock. Might've cost a few more bucks but it came in the usual few days of shipping transit, no delays. Just checking now though and only the 15lb hopper one is in stock.

Wow! That's unbelievable but sad.
FWIW, I was reading this thread because I was looking at a crusher also and was looking for all of the info I could find. I decided on the Cereal Killer which was ordered from Adventures in Homebrewing on Nov 20th. It was shipped on the 21st and I received it on the 22nd. I crushed 13 lbs. of grain on the 25th and brewed on the 26th getting 78% eff. :D
 
Our club put in a group buy with them for 15 of these and got a decent discount. It did take awhile and I had to e-mail them 2-3 times at a crack before I got a response. Then I was missing about half of my handles when I finally did get it. Waiting isn't an issue for most people as long as expectations are set appropriately.

That kinda pisses me off... You are the only one who claims to have gotten a response. The message that gives out is they will answer you if they WANT to or if you are buying enough from them. Makes me never want to buy from them, sad, I am ordering a mill before christmas and now a Barley Crusher is easily crossed off the list of possibilities.:)off: I think I'm going with the new Rebel Brewer Mill.)

Especially as a small company, they are nailing your own coffin shut.
 
I bought one and it came no problem. I always try to support small business like that.
 
I've been using a MonsterMill from Northern brewer. It may have been a little more but it was shipped to my door within a week of ordering it and has lasted 5 years so far with zero issues and perfect performance.
 
Glad I askes santa for a crankenstein instead.....

Good luck to all those who ordered. The no response thing is crap, don't care what size the company is.
 
Well, this isn't going to be an encouragement to anyone. I put an order through the special offer posted on BeerSmith.com. I received my PayPal receipt, but I have heard nothing from the folks over at BarleyCrusher. Oh yeah, that was 8 weeks ago.

I'm considering getting my money back from PayPal and ordering from someone else.
I ordered from the beersmith link as well. Have you received an update on your order status yet? I ordered 11/17/11 and have had no comm. yet...
 
Just think of all the beer you could have brewed in that 2 months... but now you get to make up for lost time!
 
Yes I did. The rebel brewer mill really does kick ass. 200$ is pricey but I got it for a christmas present! :tank:

I'm thinking that some of these have been resolved -- I ordered mine on 1/15through the Beersmith site, paid through paypal. Got an acknowledgment on 1/16 from BC Products, shipping notice on 1/27, and it arrived via UPS today (1/31.

It looks nice -- I'm anxious to try it out.
 
I ordered my barley crusher on 2/9, received an order confirmation on 2/10.....still waiting. Has anyone else ordered one in february and received it already?
